Types of automatic cars When we hear the word “automatic car”, we immediately think of driving without having to change gears. Basically, that's what it is, but there are three different types: Automated transmission: this is the type that has a clutch system (but no clutch pedal) and has gears (but they change by themselves); Automatic transmission: this one does not have a clutch system, but has gears that also change by themselves; CVT transmission: here we no longer have a clutch system or gears – it is a more modern, more comfortable system and it is not that much more expensive. In my opinion, if you can choose, go for the third model (CVT), even though it is a little more expensive. I used to think the same way, until I was able to buy a model with automatic transmission. I don't know if it was just getting older or if my tastes really changed. I just know that I don't want to know anything about manual cars anymore, lol… In more advanced countries, like the US and Europe, you practically don't find cars with manual transmission anymore. To tell the truth, people there don't even know how to drive manual cars – they lost the habit. I imagine that this will soon happen here in Brazil, too.
