How many times have you come home disappointed from a photo shoot, because you didn't find the ideal landscape or because of a missed sunset? It has happened to everyone, at least once in their life, to go out with so much enthusiasm hoping to do a nice photo shoot, but to come home dissatisfied, disappointed, frustrated, because we were unable to achieve what we expected or wanted. This is what happened to me on this trip that has marked me emotionally for more than a year. They had told me about a waterfall, two actually, immersed in the Mediterranean scrub on the mountains that push from the sea towards Tolfa, an impervious, harsh, but beautiful area. I went out in the afternoon, high sun, very warm light, little dominance, incredible clarity and nice temperature, ideal conditions for photography in January. Going up the hills I come across a herd of wild Maremma cows, the ones with long horns. Suddenly I lose the cell phone signal and location. Without signal and without data, it becomes very risky in these isolated areas. Finally I arrive at the waterfall... waterfall? A dammed stream with a puddle of water... The first sensation I felt was embarrassment... a disappointment. However, I began to film and photograph. As I was going down the hill, the disappointment was so strong that I stopped filming... convinced that I would never edit that video and never share it. Instead, after almost a year and a half, looking at the various clips, I re-evaluated that work and, apart from the photographic need, that puddle of water was vital for the herd of wild cows and for the wildlife. In fact, the entire service has a strong documentary connotation, starting from the great landscapes, the Mediterranean scrub, the pastures, a wild land. The message, as said in the video, is to always find the meaning of what we have done, despite everything. Thanks for following me.
