Video link: • The Uninvited Guest How to deal with anxious thoughts? Who here doesn't have the habit of spending a lot of time stuck in their thoughts? Wondering if they'll be able to do a certain thing, what it will be like, or thinking about how something went and how they could have acted? Our head was made to think, just as the heart was made to beat, the lungs to breathe, so thoughts are part of our lives. However, when these thoughts are more negative, anxious or aversive, it's common for people to feel the need to get rid of them. But just as there's no point in telling the heart to stop beating, because that won't happen, we can't stop our mind from thinking. Thoughts are manifestations of our organism when faced with certain contingencies or situations, and so there's no point in fighting to stop thinking or trying to change or even control them, because that won't be possible. The challenge involves what I do, how I behave when faced with these thoughts, and that's what changes everything. Watch the video and learn how to deal with them in these moments.
