Joshua 1 1 And it came to pass after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, saying, 2 Moses my servant is dead; So now, get up, cross this Jordan, you and all these people, into the land that I am giving to the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread on, I have given it to you, as I said to Moses. 4 From the wilderness and Lebanon, to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the great sea towards the setting of the sun, will be your border. 5 No one will be able to resist you all the days of your life; As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong, and be of good courage; for you will make this people inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and of great courage, so that you may be careful to do according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded you; do not deviate from it, either to the right or to the left, so that you may conduct yourself prudently wherever you go. 8 Let not the book of this law depart from your mouth; but meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to everything that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and you will be successful. 9 Did I not command you? Be strong, and be of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. 10 Then Joshua commanded the princes of the people, saying: 11 Go through the midst of the camp and command the people, saying: Provide yourselves with food, for within three days you will cross this Jordan, so that you may go in to possess the land that it gives you. the Lord your God, to possess it. 12 And Joshua spoke to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, saying, 13 Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God giveth you rest, and giveth you this Earth. 14 Let their wives, their children, and their cattle stay in the land that Moses gave them on this side of the Jordan; but you will go ahead armed in front of your brothers, all of you who are brave and mighty, and you will help them. 15 Until the LORD gives rest to your brothers as he did to you, and they also possess the land that the LORD your God gives them; Then you will return to the land of your inheritance, and you will possess the land that Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave you, on this side of the Jordan, towards the rising of the sun. 16 Then they answered Joshua, saying, We will do all that you commanded us, and wherever you send us we will go. 17 As we listened to Moses in everything, so we will listen to you, only the Lord your God will be with you, as he was with Moses. 18 Every man who rebels against your orders, and does not listen to your words in everything you command him, will die. Just try hard, and be of good cheer. Pastor Paulo Seabra is an experienced pastor both in church management and in the pulpit and word.
