I rebuilt the complete engine on this YZ 250F but I put it back in the bike without checking the cylinder head, today I measure the clearance between camshafts and valve lifters with the engine in the frame! So this should really help those who want to do their valve clearance because it is normal maintenance for a 4-stroke motocross ???????????? Symptoms you may know: your engine starts less and less well (or the bike does not start at all), or makes flames and pops when decelerating… Then it is likely that your valve clearances have become too tight A clearance that is too small - or even zero - means that when the parts expand, you have the possibility of having the valve that no longer closes properly and is no longer watertight Come on, let's take out the torque wrench, the set of shims and measure together the clearance between camshaft and lifters on the 5 valves! ????
