The Ect Sensor (Engine Coolant Temperature) in Spanish Engine coolant temperature sensor this sensor as its name suggests monitors the temperature of the engine coolant to use that information for functions such as activating and deactivating the operation of the fans in the same way controlling the temperature in the engine by means of the gauges that the vehicle incorporates. How does the Temperature Sensor work? This sensor works like a thermistor, decreasing its resistance when the temperature increases and vice versa. This sensor records the temperature and based on it the injection of our vehicle is adapted, sending that information to the engine computer and to the temperature gauge on the car's dashboard. When the coolant is at a very low temperature, through this sensor the car's system uses more fuel in the mixture. When we have been driving for a while the temperature rises and our sensor allows less fuel to be used and the mixture to be adapted.
