During the snowfall in week 2 of 2023, we have been out with all available snow removal crews, which are around 200-250 people. Large and small machines are clearing snow, and spreading gravel and salt. The amount of snow is so great that there is a lot of snow in many places, parking lots are filled with snow, sidewalks are narrower than usual and accessibility is not tip-top everywhere. Now that we are also removing snow, this improves the conditions in the streets, but it also requires that you have to move your car and cannot park on the street while we are working to remove the snow. Recently, three road graders have been driven in the city to scrape away ice. There are not many machines on such a large road network, so the work is not going as quickly as we would like. Fortunately, we will get more machines in eventually, but it is time-consuming work to get the ice removed.
