BHA acids ( Salicylic acid ) - have exfoliating effects, remove dead skin cells and help get rid of acne and blackheads. It combines well with AHA/PHA, but not with benzoyl peroxide or retinol. 2. AHA acids ( Lactic acid, Glycolic acid, ...) - have exfoliating effects, help remove dead skin cells and improve skin texture. It combines well with BHA/PHA, but not with vitamin C and retinol. 3. PHA acids ( Gluconolactone ) - PHA molecules are much larger and therefore cannot penetrate as deeply as AHA and BHA; they work exclusively on the surface and do not affect the deeper sensitive layers. Therefore, they are more suitable for more sensitive skin types. They are combined in the same way as BHA and AHA acids. 4. Retinol - promotes cell renewal, improves skin texture and reduces wrinkles. It combines well with hyaluronic acid and vitamin E, but not with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and with AHA/BHA or PHA acids. 5. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) - is an antioxidant, protects the skin from free radicals and helps stimulate collagen production. It combines well with vitamin E and ferulic acid, but not with retinol or AHA/BHA or PHA acids. 6. Hyaluronic acid - has moisturizing effects, improves skin elasticity and smoothes wrinkles. It combines well with vitamin C/E and retinol, but not with AHA/BHA and PHA acids. 7. Niacinamide - is an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from free radicals and improves skin texture and helps restore the skin barrier. It combines well with hyaluronic acid and retinol, but not with AHA/BHA or PHA acids. 8. Benzoyl peroxide - has antibacterial effects, helps get rid of acne. It combines well with BHA, but not with retinol.
