One day you wake up and realize that your life is too small: relationships, commitments, objects and even thoughts seem to pile up around you, taking away your vital space, constituting an obstacle to your happiness. You feel like you've reached an invisible but solid limit, a limit that you can't overcome by "working harder". In fact, you start to believe that that "more" is the problem. We talk a lot about personal growth, but little about the fact that greater growth must correspond to greater spaces. And yet it's logical, indeed, physiological. Wouldn't everything be easier if we could change our lives like a hermit crab changes its shell, leaving behind everything that is not needed? According to Irina Potinga - aka @SpazioGrigio, blogger and youtuber, as well as one of the major representatives of minimalism in Italy - we can indeed. Minimalism can teach us to abandon the superfluous, in exchange for the freedom to truly be ourselves. We just need to find the courage to change. But what is the path to becoming a minimalist and changing our lives? From the stage of TEDxTorino Life On Mars, Irina Potinga talks to us about how a change of direction in the name of #minimalism, decluttering and sustainability in her lifestyle allowed her to find her #SpazioGrigio: her personal recipe for freedom and happiness. Irina is the representative of minimalism in Italy, the creator of the blog www.spaziogrigio.com and the Youtube channel Spazio Grigio about minimalism, sustainability and personal development. She is convinced that living a well-lived life is possible and she shows the instruments to do so. She called her space Grigio (grey) because the answer and the best solutions are in the middle - a shadow of grey. Irina graduated in accounting and foreign languages at high school, in economics at university and has a master degree in marketing but after a couple of years working a 9 to 5 office job, she decided to reinvent herself and become a creator. She is now dedicated to the creation of digital content, eBooks, courses and sustainable products. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
