More than that, the issue of switching breasts during the same feeding is not even encouraged if it is not necessary. This is because, leaving one breast and going to another may mean that the baby does not get to suck the fattier, more caloric milk, which is the “hind” milk and is the milk that helps the baby develop and gain weight. What is currently being disseminated and supported: Keeping a watch on how much the baby has fed is a mistake that only confuses the mother and harms the development of breastfeeding.
