How I restored, improved and configured a 2010 netbook to make it an ideal laptop for writing and programming. In the video review, my HP Mini 5103 with a brand new magnesium and aluminum chassis, Atom Dual Core processor, 1366 x 768 px display, SSD and a modified thermal system to make the internal fan spin as little as possible. I combined all of this with a #Linux operating system optimized for its hardware (Void Linux) and a work environment (i3-wm) specific to my needs: writing, notes and code, managing the site's web pages, synchronizing everything with git. Over the months I managed to assemble a model with a 10-inch 1366 x 768 pixel screen and an Atom N550 processor, and then ordered all the external parts (bottom body, lid, wrist rest and Italian keyboard) from Chinese factories. From there I started to optimize the operating system with the idea of having a comfortable work environment for writing, text or code, and for subsequent synchronization on git. Warning: it takes a bit of practice to get them up and running because each setup needs some modification to be adapted to the hardware it runs on.
