Ralph Caspers has to be creative on a regular basis - for work reasons. Just like Kaddi aka @coldmirror and the twins Dennis and Benni Wolter from @worldwidewohnzimmer. But what is creativity anyway? Can everyone be creative? And how can I become more creative? Kaddi, Dennis and Benni tell Ralph how they come up with new ideas for their videos. Science says: Being creative means creating something that is new AND useful. In all types of creativity - whether art, science or cooking - two ways of thinking are important: First, "divergent thinking". This is the linking of information in the brain that at first glance has nothing to do with each other. Ralph shows you the results of a study in which a very creative brain and a less creative brain were compared. In the less creative brain, creative tasks use brain connections that work together anyway. In the particularly creative brain, however, connections between brain areas that otherwise rarely work together are used. In addition to divergent thinking, you also need “convergent thinking” – the logical part of creativity, so to speak. With it, we can, for example, evaluate whether a creative idea is useful and then implement it. Can everyone be creative? Yes, because there is no creativity gene. Kaddi aka @coldmirror explains how you can avoid putting too much pressure on yourself, and Dennis and Benni from @worldwidewohnzimmer tell you why it’s worth taking the tram. Ralph tells you what untidy rooms and breaks have to do with creativity.
