World Theme Travel - Land of Bitter Cold and Wildness A winter kingdom of -70 degrees Celsius A land of snow and ice where everything freezes, Sakha Republic. At Krest'yanskiy Rynok, frozen fish are skewered like baguettes, and fish caught by the Yakuts themselves freeze as soon as they are pulled out. The daytime temperature is -30 degrees Celsius, which is lower than the temperature of a freezer. Here, all outdoor snow-covered areas become natural refrigerators. Oymyakon is the coldest village in the world, excluding the polar regions. Oymyakon is a village where people use frozen bananas as hammers to repair houses, and where water sprinkled in the air turns into snow. This place, where the lowest temperature was recorded at 71.2 degrees, is a real winter kingdom. The Russian sauna Banya is what relaxes the body that has shrunk from the unimaginable cold. Like the smoke rising from the Banya chimney all night long, the long winter nights of Oymyakon seem to never end. Yamal Peninsula, which means 'the end of the world' in Nenets language. We set off to find the story of life that continues there. Under the snowy landscape and the aurora that are so beautiful that they are blinding, the Nenets start and end their day with reindeer. Reindeer pull the sled and give us meat and leather. To them, reindeer are life companions that make life in the frigid tundra snowfields possible. As always, the Nenets will continue to roam the Yamal Peninsula. Perhaps it is not the 'end of the world' but the 'starting point of another world'. ✔ Program name: World Theme Travel - Extreme Cold and Wild Land Part 1 Winter Kingdom at -70 degrees Celsius ✔ Broadcast date: 2020.11.09 #GolladunDocumentary #WorldThemeTravel #Reindeer #Hunter #Siberia 3. They say there is a special way for them to enjoy peace during the long polar nights... Finns are people who value their alone time in the forest or by the lake more than any other time in their lives. What would it be like to relax in a small cabin in the forest? A natural space with no electricity, no running water, and no cell phone reception! Enjoy a beautiful Finnish winter night in a cabin in a remote forest. ✔ Program name: World Theme Travel - Dreamy Winter, Finland Part 3 'Living the Finnish Way' ✔ Broadcast date: November 28, 2017 #WorldThemeTravel #PolarNight #WinterInFinland #Moki #NordicTravel #FinnishCulture #Rovaniemi #FinnishSauna #OulankaNationalPark #WorldPlacesToVisitBeforeYouDeath #Frozen 4. World Theme Travel - People at the End of the Earth Part 2 Russia, the Star of the North Yamal If you take a train from Moscow, the capital of Russia, for two full days, you can go to the Yamal Peninsula, a land adjacent to the Arctic Ocean. Baby mammoth 'Lyuba' met in the central city of Salekhart. It is an amazing fossil that was discovered in the 'permafrost', a land that never melts, with its skin, internal organs, and even the mother's milk it drank just before it died still intact. Recently, due to global warming, the permafrost has melted, revealing the shape of a soldier who died 700 years ago. You can see the Arctic Circle, which is suffering from climate change, at the Yamalo-Nenets Regional Museum. We board a special vehicle that can withstand the cold to go to the snowy tundra where the Nenets nomads live. We drive across the frozen Ob River and arrive at a place where the Chum, the mobile dwelling of the Nenets, are lined up. A Nenets family happily welcomes travelers. Since the danger of being lost can come at any time in the tundra, it is said that it is their law to welcome strangers. Thanks to this, we have a warm time under the starry night with the aurora of the Arctic. Yamal means “the end of the land” in the Nenets language. They migrated from Siberia 1,000 years ago and arrived at the end of the land facing the Arctic Ocean, where they live by raising reindeer. The morning starts with Yorklawa, who selects reindeer to pull the sled and reindeer to slaughter. Helping Nenets woman Yelena chop firewood and melting the ice of the frozen lake to use as drinking water. On just one day a year, the Nenets nomads gather to hunt 40 reindeer. A herd of 4,000 reindeer encountered in the snowfield. The amazing sight leaves you speechless. A breathtaking battle between humans and animals! Hunting reindeer raised in nature without fences is no different from hunting. A six-year-old reindeer sprinting wildly through the snowfield! Their lives, which last 11 years at a boarding school in the city but eventually return to the tundra, are amazing. Since ancient times, the Nenets have been drinking reindeer blood rich in iron and vitamins. The Aibat ritual, where reindeer skins are removed and bones and flesh are dismantled. The reason why all of these processes feel sublime is because we know that they are the laws of survival that allowed people to live in extreme environments. The taste of reindeer meat that you work hard to enjoy! Meet the Nenets, a grateful people who share deep affection even in a short meeting.
