He completed his Bachelor of Theology course at the Seminário Presbiteriano do Sul in Campinas-SP from 1978 to 1981 and his Doctorate of Ministry at the Reformed Theological Seminary, in Jackson, Mississippi, in the United States from 2000 to 2001. He was pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Bragança Paulista from 1982 to 1984 and since 1985 he has been the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Vitória. He is also a member of the Academia Evangélica de Letras do Brasil, executive director of Luz para o Caminho, in Campinas, and collaborating pastor at the Pinheiros Presbyterian Church in São Paulo.
