Lalmonirhat is a small char folimari between two streams of river Dharla on the Indian border. Close to the Indian border. Apart from agriculture and animal husbandry, fishing is the main occupation of these pastoral people. The arable land of Char is almost going to end. If the erosion continues like this, within a few years the Follymari char will disappear into the riverbed like the Mogulhat port.
