Father Eleftherios: A life full of sacrifice and service Father Eleftherios, a sign of an era full of deprivation and struggle, is a living example of resilience and dedication. Born and raised in the village of Plagia in Aitoloakarnania, he experienced the difficulties of poverty from a young age. Barefoot, with little food, he helped his large family by working in the fields. Despite the deprivations, Father Eleftherios was distinguished for his intelligence. Although he excelled in elementary school, unfortunately, financial weakness deprived his father of the opportunity to send him for further studies. He was therefore forced to work as a shoemaker, a life lesson that taught him the value of hard work and perseverance. At the same time, his love for the church and religion prompted him to become a cantor and later a priest. With the unwavering support of his family, and especially his wife, Father Eleftherios dedicated his life to the service of the community. By actively participating in the joys and sorrows of his fellow villagers, he earned their love and respect. With their help, he contributed to the construction of churches in the village, leaving his own mark on the spiritual and social life of Plagia. Today, retired, facing difficulties in movement, he enjoys the peace of his home, full of satisfaction for what he offered to his family and the local community. Father Eleftherios' life is a hymn to the resilience of the human spirit, reminding us that dedication, hard work and faith can overcome any obstacle. #stories #faithful #tradition #priest #greekvillagelife •• Article 66 - Law 2121/1993 EPPI-DROUME AMKE ••
