The Istanbul Criminal Court of Peace on Duty has issued a house arrest order for journalist Özlem Gürses, who was detained in Ankara yesterday evening. The prosecutor, who took Gürses’ statement at the Courthouse in Çağlayan today in the investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on charges of “insulting the institutions and organs of the state” and “publicly spreading misleading information,” referred the 54-year-old journalist to court with a request for her arrest.
