Living the folklore of Slovakia means being constantly ready to discover its new corners. Every region, village, and sometimes even individual performers hide precious gems that we gradually collect throughout our lives to delight or move us. However, some resonate more strongly within us. Maybe they are the songs of our native village, the village of our grandparents, maybe the dances that we learned first in a children's ensemble or that our heart simply chose without asking. They are our folklore home, the warmth of which only we ourselves truly know. It is not possible to put the folklore homes of all the people in Slovakia on one stage, but we can try to get as close to them as possible. The opening program of the 69th annual Východná Folklore Festival is therefore a varied selection of songs and dances from all regions of Slovakia. ????
