The negotiations of the Congress of Vienna eventually led to the formation of the Germanic Confederation. Many politicians expected that Germany would become a unified nation. However, neither the Germanic states themselves, much less the great European powers, wanted this feat. Ultimately, the Germanic Confederation ended up being an almost obsolete political entity. With the winds of the Enlightenment and speeches of empowerment of the people, the German Confederation, which ended up being the symbol of the restoration of the absolutist monarchies in Germany, also ended up being the trigger for uprisings and revolutions. It was also with its end that Germany ended up taking the path of unification. Although it does not seem like a topic that talks about the History of Prussia but rather about Germany, it is an important requirement to understand how the uprisings will be received in Prussia, a fact that will be told in the next episode of this playlist.
