The historic City of Kings celebrates 488 years since its founding in Spain and our interest in this city, a World Heritage Site, takes us to four important places over four centuries: the Hotel Comercio, an emblematic building that welcomed travellers and was the scene of one of the most macabre crimes in the city; the House of Nicolás de Ribera, the first mayor of Lima; the House of Mariscal Ramón Castilla, the Republican president of Peru, recently restored; and the Hospital of San Andrés, the oldest in South America, which still stands, despite no longer functioning as a hospital, and which also has many stories and legends.
