About :

Climb to Cima Sternai from Rifugio Canziani, starting from Fontana Bianca lake in Val d'Ultimo. The climb is entirely on the ridge, as the original route on the glacier is no longer practicable due to unsafe conditions and the progressive retreat of the Vedretta di Fontana Bianca. Once you reach the glacier, you abandon the old track in favor of the new route that leads to Cima Lochner. From here you begin to follow the ridge. The climb is logical, you just have to be careful not to lose sight of the various cairns that you encounter on the path. The most challenging sections are well equipped with chains. We did it in 2h 40min from Rifugio Canziani (for those who want to spend the night at the refuge, you should know that breakfast is served at 7.00... unfortunately not earlier).
