History and Legend Cabana Dochia is named after a mythological figure from Romanian folklore, Baba Dochia, who is associated with legends about changing seasons and surviving harsh winter conditions. Cabana Dochia represents an important landmark for mountain tourism in Romania, offering a combination of adventure, picturesque landscapes and an immersion in the wild nature of the Ceahlău Massif. It is an ideal place for those who want to escape from the urban bustle and enjoy the peace and beauty of the mountain. The hermitage dedicated to "The Change of Face", The settlement dedicated to "The Change of Face" and "The Good Faithful Voivode Stephen the Great and the Holy" was built on a mountain plateau surrounded by large rocks, and near the monastery is the Dochia cabin and the Toaca weather station. The toponymy of the mountain and the places around it shows the presence of hermits and monks since ancient times and is recorded by documents since the 15th century. It is difficult to know when the first hermits came to these places and what was their origin. We can easily believe that they were native monks returned from Mount Athos or monks from the great monasteries of Moldavia. Some toponyms that remember them have been preserved, others have changed or disappeared. We remember: "The Hermit's Foot", "The Pit of the Hermits", "Gedeon's Cave", "La Chilii", "Vucol's Cave", "Josaf's Cell", "Mothers' Meadow", "Panaghia" (from the Greek, "The one in also Holy" - in honor of the Mother of God), "Monk Stream", "Ghenadie's Meadow", "Seraphim's Foot", "Chilia's Village", "Gherman's Cave", "Altar Stone", "Gideon's Broad Stone", " Martin's Creek", "Vadul Calugărenilor" etc. There is also another kind of toponymy: "Shepherd's Stone", "Dorobantului's Hat", "Budu's Tower", "Pharaoh", "Ocolașul Great" - also called "Throne of the Gods", "Teiului Stone". The consecration of this church took place in 1993, on August 28, by the Metropolitan of Moldavia and Bucovina, together with a council of bishops, priests and deacons. The Ceahlău Monastery today continues the tradition of humble monastic life that began here, in the Ceahlău Hermitage, centuries ago, honoring the memory of the hermits who sanctified this mountain with every prayer. TOACA Peak Toaca Peak, at 1904 m, is the second largest in the Ceahlău Massif, after the Ocolașul Mare peak. Although it is not the highest point in the Ceahlău Mountains, this peak is the main attraction in the massif due to its pyramidal shape. On Vârful Toaca is the meteorological station of the same name, which can be reached by climbing a 523-step staircase. #################################################### ###################### For those who have not yet watched Ep. 1, I leave you a link here • Hiking in the Ceahlău Mountains ????????????????????????
