In a small series of films, we would like to present our highlights of the Dolomite passes. We are more interested in the scenic beauty and the joy of open roads than in the driving challenge. With the exception of the Pordoi Pass, the four passes presented are off the usual tourist routes, so you often have the roads to yourself. The routes cross at the Passo di Falzarego, so that this has a special place. This impressive mountain pass, which suddenly appears in the middle of the rugged rocks after the ascent through the forest, fascinated us particularly because of the road layout and the surroundings. But the high mountain passes Passo di Giao and Passo di Pordoi are also located in the middle of an impressive high mountain backdrop. The Passo di Valparola has a special place. It is actually more of a fairly flat road that leads through a fascinating plateau covered with rocks. We did the tour at the end of September with our two motorcycles, the Suzuki V-Strom 650 and the BMW R1250 GS. The tours are not particularly demanding and can also be mastered by drivers with less experience. You should think carefully beforehand about whether you want to take on the Passo di Pordoi, which is part of the Sella circuit, as there is a lot of traffic, especially during the holiday season.
