This is a collection of train arrivals, departures and passing scenes at Mishima Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen. These were taken on Saturday, June 1, 2019. At JR Mishima Station, I also took photos of the Tokaido Shinkansen. Mishima Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen is an elevated station with one island platform and two tracks, and there are passing tracks on the outside of each of the up and down tracks. It seems that Mishima Station is the only Shinkansen station in Japan that has a structure where the main line (passing track) is located on the outside of the island platform (secondary main line). This structure like Mishima Station is common on conventional lines, though. I was surprised that this is the only Shinkansen station. Stations with one island platform and two tracks and a passing track on conventional lines in the Kanto region include Ichikawa Station on the JR Sobu Rapid Line and Samezu Station on the Keikyu Main Line. This time, I was able to take a photo of only one 700 series train, which is becoming less common. Another 700 series train passed by, but as it passed, a passing train came from the opposite direction and I was wondering which one to take a photo of, so I failed.
