Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kadarusman is one of the few people of Indonesian descent who have a career in the United States military, and even fewer in terms of rank who have entered the middle officer level. Bill Kadarusman began his military career from the lowest rank. His desire to become a soldier had been strong since he was in junior high school in Indonesia. After graduating from college in America, his dream of becoming a soldier came true even though he had to go through the private route. His first assignment was to serve on the battlefield in Iraq.
