How to check the fuel pressure regulator of a single injection and what pressure does the fuel pump create. How it works and what will happen if the fuel pressure regulator is faulty. As you know, the fuel pump, or rather the electric fuel pump, always works in one mode and when the engine speed increases, its speed does not change. That is, 12 volts come to the fuel pump and it just works and creates pressure. But the fuel injector of a single injection opens and closes. The amount of injected fuel depends on the duration of the injector opening. For example, I have a 4 bar pump and this is too much for the injector to work. This is where the regulator comes into play, it leaves the pressure in the region of 0.8 -1.2 bar, and dumps the rest into the return line and then into the gas tank. High pressure leads to high fuel consumption (rich mixture), at low pressure there will be a lean fuel mixture.
