Several world-famous monuments of early Christian architecture have been preserved in Karachay-Cherkessia. These are the Shoaninsky and Sentinsky temples, built on the spurs of the mountains. And 3 temples of the Nizhne-Arkhyz settlement - Northern, Middle and Southern. All of them were built during the era when the Alans ruled the lands of the North Caucasus. Who were the Alans? Why did they accept Christianity? And what is the relationship between them and modern residents of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic? Let's try to figure it out!
