Because the end of life is a sensitive, almost taboo subject, few French people know exactly what happens in palliative care units. But because a bill on active assistance in dying is in preparation, it seems essential to take an interest in it and understand how these units work when resources and human resources are put into them. Rebecca Fitoussi spent several weeks immersed in the Jeanne Garnier medical center in Paris, a place entirely dedicated to supporting patients for whom there is no longer any treatment. The director shows us the commitment of the caregivers, the authenticity of the patients, but also the unfailing humanity of the volunteers and, paradoxically, the life that emerges from the establishment.
