Herbal tea was always the first choice of medicine among European forest peoples. In the Latvian language, it still rings true: sahles (= "herbs") is the term for medicine par excellence, and sahles dfert (= "drink herbs") means to take medicine. Herbal teas are not just medicines, but above all a luxury item. People like to drink them; they bring the flowering herb meadow into the house and are good on foggy, dreary autumn days and in the cold winter; they can remind the soul that summer will return with its blissful warmth and cheerful light. Every farm and every household had its own special herbal tea. We are very pleased that Sonnentor has now added our house tea, as mixed by my wife Christine, to its range.
