It seems that at least once in their life everyone has a hemorrhoid crisis; in particular, it is estimated that the disease, in its various manifestations, affects on average one in three adults, with a significant increase in the age group over 40. The main cause of hemorrhoid disease is the mucosal prolapse of the rectum that determines the protrusion of the hemorrhoids towards the anal orifice. In PCM we have focused on the cause of the disease, therefore intervening with the correction of the mucosal prolapse and returning the hemorrhoids to their natural anatomical position, inside the anal canal. In other words, a “lifting” of the prolapsed mucosa is performed to restore a normal situation, thanks to the THD method. The operation can be performed under local-regional or general anesthesia, in day surgery.
