Our documentary accompanies Heli Rk 24 and crew on their dramatic missions, and later visits the alpine accident victims. Did they make mistakes on the mountain in the difficult terrain? Did they overestimate themselves? And: who actually pays for the rescue missions? Emergency takeoff for Heli RK 2. A mountain biker has had a serious fall in alpine terrain. Is his injury critical? Even on approach, the four-man crew prepares for the worst. The emergency doctor and mountain rescuer can only get down to the accident victim using a winch rope. Later, the injured mountain biker is winched up into the helicopter and flown to the hospital. Spectacular, but this is everyday life for RK 2 and its crew. The rescue helicopter is stationed in Reutte in Tyrol and rescues mountain climbers, hikers, mountain bikers, and people who have lost their way from the Tyrolean and neighboring Bavarian mountains. We broadcast this documentary for the first time on October 9, 2019 under the title: Help from the air - on the move with the mountain rescuers. All statements and facts correspond to the status at that time and have not been updated since then.
