Hazelnuts are particularly popular with confectionery manufacturers and are often found in chocolate, pralines and spreads. The most popular nut in the world is the peanut. It is a popular snack and actually grows underground. MOLD POISON Mold poisons are repeatedly found in random samples taken by the Chemical Veterinary and Testing Office in Sigmaringen. The poison is invisible to the eye, cannot be detected by smell or taste and is not destroyed by high temperatures during baking or cooking. The contamination with mold poisons in whole nuts is usually lower, so it is better to buy nuts unground.
