Gülcan, who has captivated all the young men in the village with her legendary beauty, has her heart set on Kerim. However, Gülcü Baba, who is unaware of this, makes a plan for his daughter to get married and start her own family, and puts the young men in the village to a test to test their love. He says to the young men, "I will give my daughter to the one who grows roses as beautiful as me." As soon as the young men hear this, they rush to grow the most beautiful rose and start looking for ways to do so. Kerim, like the other young men in the village, is also concerned about growing roses, and on the other hand, his heart burns when he thinks of the possibility of losing Gülcan, whom he loves more than anything in the world. Days pass but the young people can't find the secret of growing roses. Kerim can't stand this pain and hopeless race any longer and makes a request from Gülcan; to get the secret of the fertilizer her father gave to the roses for herself... Gülcan, whose heart is burning for Kerim since the day before, fulfills her lover's request without hesitation and buries the secret of the fertilizer under a tree as they agreed.
