He showed God a supernatural picture, of a train, which first came at a furious speed, but soon after, the train stood still. The train was a picture of how the Norwegian Church was to go! Parish priest Morten Gravdal, the husband of the 1st candidate for the Prayer List in Møre diocese, Monika Tettli, received a vision, a prophecy about the Norwegian Church, 40 years ago! Read his story and watch him tell it in the video below. The Bible - the locomotive of the church! We were a prayer group during my studies at MF that called us "Group for Spiritual Renewal". During a meeting we had in the devotional room one evening, a message came in tongues. No one had the meaning right away. (I had photography as a hobby, and was used to developing images in a darkroom. This was around 1980 - before anyone knew what digital photography was). In the silence after the heavy message, it was just as if an image was evoked in my head, as an image emerges in the developing liquid in the photo room: It was the image of a train. The train went through a landscape at great speed. It had been a long time since a train had run on the track, and both trees and large stones had fallen into the track. But in front of the locomotive was a large plow. This plow swept aside everything that was on the track. Even in places where there had been landslides, - and it looked dangerous, the plow swept the track clean, and the train did not lose any of its speed. Then I saw that the plow was an open book. The steam locomotive did not emit smoke, so I understood that it was not the power of the engine that drove the train forward. What drove the train forward was that the people who were on the train read the book - and believed what was written there! People were leaning out of the windows, they had wind in their hair and tears in their eyes because of the wind. They cheered because it went so fast! Then came the next picture: The train stood still. It was on a station. The plow - the book - had been dismantled and was lying on top of one of the wagons. There went train drivers and conductors and people with railway caps and uniforms with stars and stripes. They read a bit in the book, and they cut and pasted, - they took away what they couldn't fit. They tore out whole pages of the book, and they did nothing to put the plow back in its place. Some wondered why the train didn't run. The vast majority were satisfied with the way it was, they went on and off just as it suited them. This train is naturally the church and the assembly of Christians. The book is the Bible. The power of the Bible lies in the fact that Christians read the Bible - and believe what is written there! When the Christians do that, the church will move forward. The church has the potential to move forward at breakneck speed, that will happen when Christians read the Bible, and what is written in the Bible gets to shape the Christians' lives. This was a picture I got almost 40 years ago, - and if this was true then, it is certainly true now! The central and tone-setting theologians and bishops cut and paste God's Word in such a way that there is nothing left. Liberal theology means that the Bible is no longer considered a Holy Book. I think God is angry! Possibly even worse: He gets angry! And He challenges us to mount the plow at the front of the train again! The entire Word of God must be placed before the eyes of the people of the church and the Christian assembly - and it must shape our lives, purify us and sanctify us! Then the church in Norway can start moving again! Perhaps the picture was a prophecy for our time? It has been a long time since a train has run on the rails in Norway. It's been a long time since we've had a revival! A lot of rock and trees have fallen onto the railway, and there have been several landslides. It may seem impossible that a train can move on a track that is in such poor condition. But - the Bible tells us that we believe in a God for whom nothing is impossible - doesn't it?! Let's get the plow back in place!
