The prevailing image of masculinity is changing in society: modern men are emotional, soft and sensitive. Stars like Timothée Chalamet and Harry Styles, who openly and confidently show their feminine side, have established themselves and are role models for many young people. But not everyone is so enthusiastic about this change in masculinity. Pick-up artists, tradwives and the alpha male movement are increasingly betting on the return of conservative masculinity on social media. First and foremost: the "King of Toxic Masculinity", Andrew Tate. A survey by Plan International on the role model for young men in Germany shows that half of 18 to 35-year-olds see themselves as "providers" in a relationship who have the say. The new masculinity is also being discussed in politics. The AfD, for example, has been working for some time to restore the conservative image of men. Some are in favor of the change, others are totally overwhelmed and unsettled. Are the demands on the new men going too far? That's what our guests discuss in this episode of 13 Questions. Our participants: Marie Morgen, influencer; Tobias Haberl, journalist & author of the book “The Offended Man”; Spiros Anastassiadis, content creator & coach; Lorenz Riess, content creator; Josef Aldenhoff, psychiatrist & psychotherapist; Tara-Louise Wittwer, author, columnist & content creator; Content Note: We invited Marie Morgen to this episode of 13 Questions because she speaks out on this topic as an influencer. In the episode she is introduced as a psychologist, among other things. At the time of filming and publication, Marie Morgen was a member of the Federal Association of German Psychologists. The prerequisite for such membership is a completed psychology degree. After the program was published, the association excluded her.
