Bad Harzburg (formerly Neustadt unter der Harzburg) is one of the tours to the Harz, if not the gateway to the Harz, as from here you can get directly to the popular Torfhaus viewing point. But Bad Harzburg itself also invites you to linger. In addition to the castle ruins with a view and Canossa column and the treetop path, there are numerous well-kept green spaces and parks, most notably the spa gardens. In this video I take you on a short tour of the town and its parks, including a visit to the fountain of youth, a special landmark of the town. Oh yes, the wildly rushing river at the beginning and end of the video is the Radau, which rises in the Brocken area. The route is of course not difficult, and there are sufficient parking spaces, especially in the area of the Burgbergbahn. But there are also plenty of benches available for a very leisurely day. And if you want to eat well, there are many restaurants.
