So, as I said in the video, the formation of the harmonic minor scale is very simple, it's almost the same as the natural minor scale, changing only the seventh degree, which instead of being a minor seventh is a major seventh. Speaking of its application, the harmonic minor scale can be used on top of the minor chord with a major seventh. Another possibility of applying the harmonic minor scale is on top of the dominant fifth degree, because since in the natural minor scale the fifth degree is minor it doesn't sound like a dominant chord, so the harmonic minor scale fits perfectly for these occasions.
