Kitti Almási: Happiness lasts a moment at a time Clinical psychologist specializing in mood and anxiety disorders, author of numerous psychological books, lecturer and also has a successful YouTube channel. During her career, Kitti Almási dealt with the topic of happiness many times, but according to her, satisfaction is a much more important, yet little-discussed term. Dorka Gyárfás talks to him in the new episode of Mozinet Nagylátószög about the film A hälässä öököke, which is already in cinemas. In Mozinet's new presentation, documentary filmmakers Arun Bhattarai and Dorottya Zurbó follow the life of a happiness agent. In the tiny Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan, they travel the country as employees of the Happiness Research Institute and use a questionnaire to assess the happiness level of the population. In the course of the story, we learn not only the desires of ordinary people, but also the personal fate of our protagonist, whose biggest dream is to finally find love. "Good enough means that more is not necessarily better, bigger is not necessarily better." According to Kitti Almási, in today's society, we often look for happiness in false directions, people tend to expect happiness from accumulating material goods, but this obviously does not lead to success. According to him, the feelings of "enough" and the closely related "satisfaction" are much more important guidelines. "You have to make sure that what I want is enough based on that, and that you have a relationship with yourself. Or the so-called aroused desires creep in, the essence of which is that the way others live affects you in your environment, and you learn these patterns, these values, and you don't even notice it, it's already gotten under your skin and you've made it yours." Another important term that we can talk about in connection with happiness is "excited desires". According to Kitti Almási, hoping for happiness, we tend to make the standards set by others our own, and hope for prosperity in fulfilling them and in this alignment. "I think that there are happy moments, and almost everyone experiences them sometimes, usually it doesn't even need a big reason. Happy times, I think, means that we have more of these moments of happiness. So when you are completely calm, or rather I use the word contentment, I think you are satisfied with your life in happy periods." Happiness and satisfaction are not concepts that can be alienated from each other, in fact, they are closely related. Kitti Almási says that happy periods do not mean that a person experiences a constant feeling of happiness, but rather that he is satisfied with himself and his life. And happiness is only present for a moment at a time. The agent of happiness is already in cinemas! The quotations used in the text have been edited and published.
