Because you rebelled against my commandment when the congregation strove in the Wilderness of Zin, to not show myself holy before their eyes at the waters (the waters of Meribah at Kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin). 15. Moses spoke to the LORD and said, 16. “O LORD, the God of the spirits of all mankind, 17. Let a man, I pray thee, be over the congregation, who shall go out and come in before them, and who shall lead them and come out, that the congregation of the LORD be not like sheep that have no shepherd.” 18. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Take Joshua the son of Nun, in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him. 19. Stand him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation, and commit him to him in their sight. 20. And you shall put your honor upon him, and cause all the congregation of the children of Israel to obey him. 21. He shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him before the LORD by the judgment of the Urim; at the word of Eleazar they shall go out and at the word of Eleazar they shall come in, he and all the children of Israel, even all the congregation. 22. And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; he took Joshua and stood him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation. 23.
