Tokyo International Airport Haneda… …was the first airport that ever made an impression on me as a young boy. My family had just finished a long flight and the Pan Am 707 in Honolulu and that observation deck blew me away! I was hooked on the jet action! Today there is no Time Machine available. Forever trapped in my mind, the best thing I can do today is to share them with others…to string together some interesting clips and “Voila!” to show my own and many other experiences that landed us in love with all the jet planes today! I only had 3 flights to Haneda and now I’m hooked on jet fumes! Now that I’m older and I live in Taipei now I was able to take the Taiwan local bus to Chongshan Taipei Airport – and they had a great observation deck (the new ones aren’t as good) I was there almost every week until the weekend so I had to buy a camera to start taking photos of the commercial jets. The most impressive thing about Tokyo Haneda was the huge operation Pan Am! And today there are very few video recordings showing what I remember Pan Am, now here we can see what it was like. I don’t think it was just the young people who participated in this project to experience this and share with them went through the same exposure. Tokyo Haneda opened in 1939 as Tokyo's Primary Airport until 1978 when the New Tokyo International Airport opened at Narita. It lasted just over 20 years, for Haneda to re-enter the international travel grid. And we can see what happened today through the 1000s of videos online today! Enjoy everyone!!!
