HANA MARIE KÖRNEROVA Hana Marie Körnerová, real name Hana Martinková (* February 16, 1954 in Litoměřice) is a Czech writer. She has been writing in a drawer since childhood, her first novel The Lord of the Mountains was not published until 1993. This six-part saga charting the history of the French noble family immediately won her readership. After all, France of the 18th and 19th centuries is the backdrop that the author uses most often for her historical-adventure stories. She worked in the health sector for fifteen years and put her knowledge of the environment to good use in the novel Please, sister, with which she succeeded in one of the first literary competitions of the Book Club. In addition to The Lord of the Mountains, the best-known and most popular novel is also a true story from post-war Czechoslovakia called Heřmánkové údolí. The period thriller Angel's Face served as a template for Zdenek Troška's film of the same name. For the past fifteen years, the author has lived permanently in Podkrkonoší. DANA ČERNÁ already performed as a guest at the theater in Hradec Králové while studying at the Prague Conservatory, and after graduating in 1990, she joined the Central Bohemian Theater Kladno - Mladá Boleslav. After the division of the theaters, she performed in the Municipal Theater in Mladá Boleslav in 1994–1998. Since 2000, she has been a member of the Prague Drama Club, where she played a number of prominent characters. In 2015, she was nominated for the Thalia Award for her role as a singing teacher in the production of Commedia finita. In addition to theater, she is engaged in dubbing (e.g. the role of Charlotte in the series Sex in the City) and is one of the leading radio actresses.
