I went on a solo trip to Hakone from downtown Tokyo by train and bus! This time it was a two-day, one-night trip. I started at Shinjuku Station on the Odakyu Line! I took the Romance Car, which is exciting no matter how old you are, to Odawara. From there, I changed to the Hakone Tozan Railway and went to Kazamatsuri Station, a few stops away. I went to a super popular eel restaurant that requires advance phone reservations. I checked in and had some time before eating, so I went to Suzuhiro Kamaboko Market. I started drinking at a bar where you can enjoy kamaboko and alcohol for just 500 yen. I was able to secure a seat at the eel restaurant, so I went back to the restaurant and started drinking in earnest with freshly cut liver and beer. They use rare blue eels, with fluffy meat, a huge portion, and a sharp sauce. I enjoyed the best unaju in all respects with hot and cold sake in the middle of the day. After that, I still had time, so I went to a beer brewery and beer bar in Kowakudani. I enjoyed comparing the three types of Hakone craft beer I could choose from. It was past 3 p.m., so I checked into the hotel. This time, we stayed in a room with an open-air bath. Although the facilities are a little old, we enjoyed the atmosphere of this long-established inn, founded in 1630, which is registered as a tangible cultural property. For dinner, we had a substantial meal, including sukiyaki with Japanese beef and pork, and boiled golden-eyed snapper. It also came with all-you-can-drink drinks, which is rare for an inn. After dinner, we enjoyed the open-air bath in the room and a bottle of beer before going to bed. The next day, we enjoyed a breakfast with many small dishes that you can only get at an inn, before checking out. Hakone is easily accessible from Tokyo. It was a fulfilling two-day, one-night trip, with hot springs, food, and even a day drink on the way! I love hot springs, ryokans, delicious food, and alcohol, and I travel to various places several times a year, and I make videos about recommended information to share with you. I often travel alone, and I love to have a leisurely dinner and breakfast at a ryokan. I basically base my trips on drinking alcohol, so I often travel by train or bus. My hobby is bar-hopping, so if I come across a good izakaya on my travels, I'll introduce it to you. I hope it will be of some help to you on your fun trips. [Self-introduction] I started writing a bar-hopping blog under the writer name "Bottle Beer Leader" around 2013. Since around 2017, I've also been writing a blog called "Sushi Romance" that specializes in counter sushi. Recently, I've been very interested in private hot springs and inn food, so I decided to share it in a new form called Vlogs. I run a standing bar and record shop called "Nomiya Elfuru" in Shindaita and a small standing bar called "Nishiogi Elf Lung" in Nishi-Ogikubo.
