This is the first video in the VIDEO HOSHINO series in a long time, and it is a super treasured video. According to Isao Hoshino, the filmmaker and producer, 1988 (Showa 63) was "the most turbulent year for Hakodate after the war." This year, historical events for Hakodate overlapped, including the abolition of the Matsumae Line, the abolition of ferry services, the opening of the JR Kaikyo Line, the holding of an exposition, and the abolition of special services on the ferry line.
