Héjszák, aprók The Balkan round dances, the hejszák and the kerkes, which show the influence of the surrounding Romania, are also performed in Gyimesek with a shoulder or belt grip. In the past, only men could dance these dances, today women also participate in some of them. The structure of these is simpler than that of the couple dances learned so far. A dance consists of a longer, more complex series of motifs, which are danced with small changes and continuously repeated. Chain dances always move to the right under the direction of the dancer standing on the right edge of the circle. The young men often fought over the selection of the dance leader, so these dances were often banned by the authorities, they were not allowed to dance at the balls. The latest dance layer in Gyimesi is represented by the Central European dances of bourgeois origin with a tight structure, such as the three-step dance, the one-step dance, the seven-step dance, the German lame dance, and the Hungarian row dance. They are called small because of their closed structure and short duration.
