One of the things that I insist on the most to my students is to have a warm-up routine for guitar, something that allows us to start the practice properly, that allows us to approach the musical pieces more easily and most importantly that helps us avoid injuries. My warm-up routine for guitarists is divided into three sections: Physical: At this point I do some physical movements to warm up the muscles, I start with a small massage on my fingers which helps me improve circulation, it is particularly useful when my hands are very cold. Then I do wrist movements and finish the warm-up routine with some stretches for the hands. In the second part of my warm-up routine for guitarists I focus on the right hand, my goal here is to play the strings, as an exercise it helps me work a little on the placement of the strings, this also helps us with precision. The third part I dedicate to two aspects, the first, fingering, in this I do exercises like the spider, I do them all over the guitar, from fret one to twelve, with this I work the whole instrument. I do a variation of the exercise, in it I try to work on some dissociation, making combinations of fingers always makes the warm-up more interesting, this because many variations can be done. I finish my warm-up routine for guitarists with some extension, this is something I do carefully, since it is the point where it is easier to get injured. I hope this tutorial about the warm-up routine for guitarists is useful to you, that you put it into practice and do not forget how important it is to warm up before starting to play. What we have seen in this lesson will be very useful to you to develop speed on the acoustic guitar, as everything requires practice and perseverance, remember that these types of resources and exercises are better developed if they are worked with a metronome.
