Munich Economic Debate with Prof. Clemens Fuest, ifo Institute December 9, 2024 https://www.ifo.de/veranstaltung/2024... The traffic light government has collapsed. The way is clear for a new political beginning. Impulses for more growth are urgently needed. The new elections in February 2025 offer the opportunity to make Germany future-proof - provided the economy and society are ready for change. Proposals for tackling this are on the table, e.g. for reducing bureaucracy, tax reform, more participation in the labor market or for shaping energy and climate policy. This must be combined with a vision of the future. Can narratives play a role in overcoming the forces of inertia? Which one would be suitable to help free Germany from the crisis? What could a vision of the future for the positive development of prosperity in Germany look like?
