Vermentino on Sauvignon blanc (Paulsen 1103 rootstock) Steps: 1 - Preparation of the grafts to be grafted. The Vermentino branches were selected and collected the day before the work. It is important to keep the branches in the shade and with humidity (low temperature if possible) until the grafts are prepared; 2 - Cutting the plants that will receive the graft; 3 - Opening the slit that will accommodate the graft; 4 - Inserting the graft into the slit, taking care to maintain contact between the cambium of the graft and the cambium of the plant to ensure healing and take. In this work we used only one graft per plant; 5 - Tying with wicker to maintain graft/plant contact. Other materials other than wicker can be used. There are also some tapes available on the market specifically for grafting; 6 - Tying the plastic bags; 7 - Filling the plastic bags with rested eucalyptus sawdust (to maintain humidity in the crack/graft); 8 - Removal of the plastic bags with sawdust the following winter. In this work we obtained a set rate above 90%.
