Climbing the Grossglockner (3798 m) is a unique feeling: Here you can find all the information for the normal route in summer with tips for beginners. -------------------MORE INFO------------------- Standing on the roof of Austria, the Grossglockner, is an indescribable feeling. Using the normal route in summer and with a mountain guide, the climb is easily possible for any alpine tour beginner who is sure-footed, has a head for heights and is in good shape. In this video, we show you what to expect when climbing the Grossglockner via the normal route in summer. Optionally, you can even book a short alpine tour course with knot tying, crevasse rescue and walking with crampons and experience another spectacular day on the Grossglockner. Another advantage of this option is that you start the climb of the Grossglockner from the Erzherzog-Johann-Hütte and are on the summit before anyone else.
