The palace hotel, which opened in 1890, is considered a landmark of social and cultural life on Gran Canaria. Over the years, the Santa Catalina has hosted many prominent personalities: from Maria Callas, Ava Gardner and Gregory Peck to Maria Callas. Just two and a half weeks ago, Chinese President Xi Jinping stayed there. The entire hotel was booked for him and his 150-strong delegation. Now it's my turn. Let's see what there is to see there.
