Lecture by Catholic theologian Goran Šarić on the topic "Between faith and nation - Serbs, saints of the Catholic Church" ( 3. 1. 2025 ) Today's panel discussion by Goran Šarić is dedicated to people who were of Serbian origin, and because of their holy life, piety and helping others, were recognized as saints by the Vatican. The author asks the question of how Serbs became saints of the Catholic Church, and in this lecture he tries to answer the complex religious, political and historical questions and circumstances that led to a part of Serbs converting to the Catholic faith, and some of them even becoming saints. As part of the lecture, Šarić also touches on the complex historical issues surrounding the territories of the former Yugoslavia, their belonging to the Serbian or Croatian people, trying to explain and dispel certain historical misconceptions in a picturesque way.
